One Imperial Kitchen menu, two Trivandrum kitchens

This is the Imperial Kitchen menu as text you can read, search and share. Our two Thiruvananthapuram restaurants, Kowdiar near the Palace and Venpalavattom near Lulu Mall, cook to one standard, but the menus aren't identical. So every dish below says where you'll find it.

Most mains cost between ₹280 and ₹540, and a meal for two usually comes to around ₹1,000. Kerala curries sit next to biriyani, Arabic grills, Chinese, Thai and Western plates, so a mixed table can each order what they like.

Breakfast menu at both restaurants

Breakfast runs from 7 to 11 AM every day at both restaurants. It's Kerala mornings done properly: appam with chicken stew, puttu with kadala curry, crisp ghee roast and masala dosa, idiappam with egg roast, and Kerala paratha with beef curry.

Below is the Venpalavattom breakfast menu ("Power Up Your Day") with its prices. Tea is ₹30 and coffee ₹50. Kowdiar's morning spread is similar; call the branch to check what's on.

Eating well

Vegetarian options, allergies and spice

We aren't a vegetarian restaurant, but a vegetarian at the table will eat well, and the kitchen will work around an allergy if you tell us.

Vegetarian

Paneer Butter Masala, Vegetable Stew, dal and Kanthari Potatoes at both branches. Dingiri Paneer and Malai Kofta at Kowdiar; Dynamite Paneer, Veg Mango Curry and Arabian Mukhabilath at Venpalavattom. Most of the breakfast menu is vegetarian too.

Allergies

Kerala dishes lean on coconut, and some dishes use nuts or dairy: Dragon Chicken is finished with cashews, Malai Kofta is stuffed with cashews and dry fruits, and the pastas and paneer dishes use cream and cheese. Tell your server about any allergy before you order.

Spice

Ask your server which dishes are hot. Cheeramulaku Tawa Fish is made with bird's eye chilli, and the Coastal Spicy Tawa Grilled starter is billed as a challenge to spice lovers. For a milder meal, try Chicken Stew, Vegetable Stew or Al Faham Chicken.

No. Our buffets are seasonal or festival-led, so there's no fixed buffet price; call the branch to ask what's coming up. For a buffet at your own event, talk to our catering team.

Breads to go with your curry

Appam is ₹25 at both branches and Kerala paratha ₹24. Nool paratha, laccha paratha, naan, tandoori roti and a cheesy kulcha are on both menus.

What is the cost for two at Imperial Kitchen?

A meal for two usually comes to around ₹1,000, depending on what you order. Most mains cost ₹280–540, steaks and ribs ₹540–1,100, and sharing platters ₹1,150–2,300. Breakfast and a single biriyani cost less; a mixed grill platter for friends costs more.

What time is breakfast served, and what's on the breakfast menu?

Breakfast is served from 7 to 11 AM every day at both restaurants. Expect Kerala favourites such as appam with chicken stew, puttu with kadala curry, ghee roast, masala dosa, idiappam and egg roast. At Venpalavattom, a masala dosa is ₹150 and appam ₹24 each.

Does Imperial Kitchen have vegetarian options?

Yes, though we aren't a pure vegetarian restaurant. Paneer Butter Masala, Vegetable Stew, dal and Kanthari Potatoes are on both menus. Kowdiar adds Dingiri Paneer and Malai Kofta; Venpalavattom has Dynamite Paneer, Veg Mango Curry and Arabian Mukhabilath. Ask your server for the full vegetarian list.

Where can I see the full price list, including biriyani prices?

Imperial Chicken Biriyani is ₹280 at both branches (₹185 for a half). For every other dish and price, open the full Kowdiar menu or Venpalavattom Menu 1 and Menu 2. Prices change from time to time, so confirm when you call to book.

Is the delivery menu on Swiggy and Zomato the same?

Both branches deliver through Swiggy and Zomato, and biriyani also comes from our delivery brand, Biriyani Kada by The Imperial Kitchen, on Swiggy. App menus are shorter than the dine-in menu and app prices can differ, so check the app before you order.

Is the menu the same at Kowdiar and Venpalavattom?

Not exactly. Both serve Fish / Prawn Mango Curry, Beef Kalam Curry, Pandan Chicken, Dragon Chicken, Al Faham Chicken, Tandoori Chicken, Imperial Chicken Biriyani and 8-Hours Beef Ribs. Kowdiar adds Syrian Chicken Roast, Mutton Rogan Josh, Kabayaki Beef and the Treasure of the Sea platter. Venpalavattom has the breakfast menu, Turkish and Lebanese kebabs, Arabian mezze and a friends-size mixed grill platter.
